Lead your leader to Flexibility

Question: “How can I influence my on-site boss to think more flexibly?”

Answer: As with most things in business, making a case for why flexibility will improve business outcomes is the most strategic and straightforward way to influence any decision. Could your flexible schedule allow you to work at a time that is not typically covered by your team? Could the team’s work be shifted so that you were doing more of one type of work and taking that burden off of other team members? Could space be saved by sharing space with people who work different schedules? The language if business is money, so if you can monetize your idea you have a better chance to getting leaders’ attention.
